BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Young fans packed First Niagara Center in Buffalo to see Justin Bieber perform.

Thousands of tweens and teens, mostly girls, were lucky enough to have parents who were willing to shell out – in some cases – hundreds of dollars for them to attend the concert. On one of the hottest days of the year, Buffalo caught Bieber fever as the pop star played to a sold-out show.

Sisters-in-law Julie Garland and Mary Ellen Burger are taking their daughters to their very first concert.

Julie said, “We had about ten of us online at the same and we got them in the first minute and cost us about $230 for four seats. Worth every penny.”

Tickets went on sale at the end of last year. Many teens told News 4 they were a gift.

Fan Mya Marchino said, “In total, I think they were around $300. My mom paid for it.”

Mckayla Gotzke wouldn’t have been able to go to the concert without the help of some generous Buffalo firefighters.

Firefighter Tom Coyle said, “After the ambulance transported her to hospital, me and Carl walked out and kind of looked at each other and said we have to do something for this little girl.”

Mckayla has spinal muscular atrophy. After responding to a medical call at her home, the firefighters saw the 13-year-old’s bedroom decked out in Bieber gear. They all pitched in to get her tickets.

And just hours before the concert began, they surprised her again. She and her best friend would be sitting front row!

So what is it about Bieber that captivates these tweens and teens? Of those we asked, they summed it up like this: “He’s perfect.”

The pop star took the stage at First Niagara Center an hour later than scheduled. But it sounds like it’s likely his fans will forgive him.
