Police release 911 tape from deadly fire

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Days after a terrifying deadly fire in the Town of Tonawanda, News 4 obtained recordings of the 911 calls by making a Freedom of Information request. The calls are from Joe Hollywood’s girlfriend, who says Hollywood is going to kill her. During the calls, Hollywood’s girlfriend learns the house is on fire.

In the first call, the upset caller repeated her address. Then she called back and had the conversation you can find below, with the dispatcher.

The situation started an hours-long blaze Monday morning. Firefighters did not battle the flames because they knew someone was inside the home with a gun. Hollywood’s girlfriend, who made the 911 call, did escape the house without injury Monday morning. Early Monday evening, authorities found Hollywood’s body in the basement of the burned down home.

The 911 call is transcribed below:

Caller- “He’s got a gun and he’s going to kill me. “

911- “Who is he”

Caller- “Joe Hollywood”

911- “Who is Joe Hollywood? Did you see the gun yourself?”

Caller- “Yes”

911- “Okay where is he right now?”

Caller- “In the house here with me.”

911- “Where in the house?”

Caller- “Down in the basement I think.”

(Can’t make out sound)

911- “Why don’t you leave the residence? Are you able to get outside?”

Caller- “The front door is barricaded, I can’t get out.”

911- “Barricaded by what?”

Caller- “It’s broken and he’s got locks on it.”

911- “Who is this male to you?”

Caller- “Boyfriend.”

911- “Has he ever done this before? Is he on any drugs or alcohol?”

Caller- “No.”

911- “Okay, no drugs or alcohol. Do you know if the gun is loaded?”

Caller- “Yes. Oh my God he’s got the house on fire.”

911- “Where mam?”

Caller- “He’s burning the house up. I don’t know he’s burning the house up.”

Dispatcher to staff- “She said he just started the house on fire.”

Caller- Come. “Go ahead, come.’

Dispatcher to staff- “And she hung up again.”

Caller- “Oh no. Please, come.”
