POMFRET, N.Y. (WIVB) – Authorities say a 49-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle accident on three-legged hill on Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret on Monday.
The crash happened around 1:20 p.m. around 300 feet south of Shumla Road. State Police say Carolanne Boulionis of Melbourne, Australia was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup when she lost control because she was going a speed not reasonable for the road conditions.
Authorities say the pickup went into the oncoming lane and was struck by a 2008 Freightliner stake truck driven by 50-year-old Matthew Wick of Cattaraugus. A third vehicle driven by 32-year-old Alexander Thurston of Silver Creek was also damaged in the accident.
Boulionis, who had been staying at a home on Hopkins Street in Jamestown for the past few weeks, was taken to Brooks Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Wicks was taken to Brooks Hospital after complaining of chest pain. Thurston was injured.
