A4I: Kelley embraces journey

ELMA, NY (WIVB) – Rejection is a part of success. The football career of West Seneca West alum Jeremy Kelley embodies that notion.  Kelley was not a starting player on teams at West Seneca West or The University of Maine until his senior years. He started at defensive end for both teams but chose to pursue a post-collegiate career as a wide receiver, believing he had the talent to excel at the position at the next level.

After knocking on NFL doors following his collegiate career, Kelley played receiver in both the AFL (Arena Football League) and CFL (Canadian Football League). Eventually those experiences opened the door to the NFL. Kelley was signed to the Indianapolis Colts but he was sent packing in the last round of cuts in preseason last year.

Despite the rejection, Kelley continues to work hard and stay positive. He intends on returning to the AFL as he continues his quest to the NFL. However, for this player success is not about where he ends up but rather how far he has traveled.
