A4I: Taking nothing for granted

Lauren Lepovich and Alex Price are both athletes at Kenmore West High School that don’t take the ability to play sports for granted. They both suffered serious injuries that nearly ended their athletic careers. Lauren temporarily lost sight in her eye following a collision in soccer. Alex fractured a bone in his neck playing football.

Doctors told them they might never play their chosen sports again. Both maintained hope, demonstrated patience and worked hard to rehabilitate until they ultimately received medical clearance to return to play.

Upon their return to the field, they expressed a sense of appreciation for the opportunity to play. Currently, they enjoy each moment on the field and always give their all, understanding that the chance to participate in athletics is a gift that comes with no guarantees.
