Bisons name Allenson as manager

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Gary Allenson will be the Buffalo Bisons’ manager in 2014, replacing Marty Brown, who left the organization last month.

Allenson is a 19-year veteran manager in the minor leagues, spending eight of those seasons in the International League with Louisville (1998-1999), Ottawa (2003) and Norfolk (2007-2011).

He spent last season as the manager for the AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Going into his 20th season as a manager, Allenson carries a record of 1,143-1,266 (.474 pct.).

Allenson also spent time in the Major Leagues as a bench coach, first base coach, and third base coach.

His staff will include pitching coach Randy St. Claire and hitting coach Richie Hebner.
