BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo Police patrol vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident late Tuesday night while responding to a DWI crash that damaged multiple parked cars.
Officers say they saw 31-year-old Alexander Snow of Buffalo run a stop sign at Oakmont Avenue and Edison while traveling at a high rate of speed in a 2003 Ford Expedition shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday. The vehicle then hit a number of parked cars before running the stop sign at Bailey Avenue and Oakmont and hitting another parked vehicle.
Snow, who has multiple prior DWI convictions, was charged with felony DWI, fleeing from an officer, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance and numerous other charges.
A 22-year-old man who was driving one of the vehicles that Snow struck was injured, and later treated and released from ECMC.
While on scene, Buffalo Police say a patrol vehicle was hit by a red, four-door Mercury Sable. The driver fled the scene and is still being sought.
Anyone with information on the second accident is asked to call 847-2255.
