Early morning bank robbery in Batavia

BATAVIA, NY (WIVB) – Two men are charged after a morning bank robbery in Batavia.

Police started looking for a car seen driving away from Five Star Bank going south onto route 98.

State troopers and Attica police stopped a car and took the men into custody.

Police say they also seized $3,000 in cash plus marijuana.

Police now say the passenger robbed the bank.

They have charged 29 year-old Gregory Beardsley of Batavia with grand larceny and robbery.

Investigators say the driver did not know Beardsley robbed the bank, but they still charged 32 year-old Philip Burrs of Batavia with driving under the influence of drugs and marijuana possession.
