McCabe, Gibbons, Kohls up for Baker

Of the 68 nominees for the 2014 Hobey Baker Award, three stand out in Western New York. Former Sabres 2nd round pick Jake McCabe, Canisius senior Kyle Gibbons, and Niagara junior Isaac Kohls are all on the list.

McCabe has been a big part of Wisconsin’s success this season, leading all Big Ten defensemen with 15 points.

Gibbons, the Griffs’ second all-time leading goal scorer, is one of only nine active players in the nation with at least 100 points and 50 goals in his career.

Kohls is the Purple Eagles’ leading scorer with 16 points this season, already setting a career-high.
