LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Lewiston man who once ran for a seat on the Niagara Falls City Council has been arrested on charges he had sexual contact with a child.
Robert Elder, 34, was arrested Friday following an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau. He is charged with one count of second degree course of sexual conduct against a child, which is a felony.
Elder, a U.S. Army veteran and owner of M&E Legal Documents, according to the Niagara Gazette, ran unsuccessfully for a council seat in Niagara Falls last year.
After being arraigned, Elder was taken to the Niagara County Jail on $5,000 bail.
