Police: man hurt during chase

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 24-year-old man is hospitalized after he crashed a car into a pickup truck while attempting to flee police in western New York.

Police in the Chautauqua County city of Jamestown tell The Post-Journal of Jamestown that officers attempted to pull over the car’s driver for speeding around 9 p.m. Monday.

Officials say the driver speed off, running through several red lights and stops signs and attempting to drive his car into police vehicles.

The chase ended when the man crashed into a pickup truck at an intersection.

Police say the man was taken to the hospital in Erie, Pa. Information on his condition hasn’t been released. The pickup’s driver wasn’t hurt.
