Should Sacred Heart be landmark?

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – It’s a fixture on Main Street, in Amherst, but should the Sacred Heart Academy be designated a historic landmark? That’s what the town board wants you to weigh in on.

It’s holding a public hearing on the issue later this week. The sisters of Saint Francis, the school’s board of directors, and administration do not support the decision because they believe it is unnecessary and unjustified.

The public hearing is Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at town hall on Main Street in Williamsville.
