Toronto tops Sabres in shootout

TORONTO (WIVB) – For the second night in a row, the Sabres found some offense, but fell short – this time, falling to Toronto 4-3 in a shootout.

Ryan Miller made 36 saves in the loss, but could not control Tyler Bozak’s attempt in the shootout that clinched the victory for the Maple Leafs.

Matt Ellis, Matt Moulson, and Cody Hodgson scored for Buffalo in the loss.

Zemgus Girgensons registered 13 hits – one shy of the NHL record, to earn the game’s second star.
