Trump talks possible run for governor

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Billionaire businessman Donald Trump is seriously considering a run for governor of New York State.

The real-estate tycoon is heading to Buffalo at the end of this month to speak at the Erie County Republican Committee’s Lincoln Leadership Reception.

Upstate Republicans met with Trump recently to discuss his possible challenge to incumbent Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo.

“They came to me about a month and a half ago. They came to me again two weeks ago, and we’ll see what happens. I mean, we’ll look at it and look at it very strongly. It would have to be…I would absolutely do it, but it would have to be a unified party, which unfortunately, right now, the Republicans don’t have,” Trump said.

The mogul will be in Buffalo on January 31. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
