EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Police say a woman from PA who was staying with relatives in East Aurora was found dead along a set of train tracks last Wednesday.
The 55-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, left her relative’s home and was walking along the tracks when at some point, she passed out. An autopsy revealed her apparent cause of death as hypothermia, but investigators are awaiting toxicology reports.
She was not struck by a train, and authorities say it is possible she fell forward before or after becoming unconscious.
Police say it does not appear that this was a suicide. Detectives will continue to investigate.
