Baron’s buzzer-beater buries Broncs

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Billy Baron did it again Friday night. The Canisius senior stepped up with a game-winning three at the buzzer, leading the Griffs to a 94-91 win over Rider in double overtime.

Baron led the way with 38 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds, along with his second game-winner of the season. The win improves Canisius to 10-6 on the season (4-1 in the MAAC).

The 38 points were the second-highest total scored by a Canisius player at the Koessler Center, behind Craig Prosser’s 39 in 1976.

Jordan Heath finished with 17 points and 9 blocks for the Griffs. Phil Valenti and Zach Lewis chipped in 12 points apiece.
