Drivers licenses could include fishing

ALBANY, NY (AP) – Governor Cuomo is expected to unveil a plan that would allow New Yorkers to link hunting and fishing licenses to their driver’s license during his State of the State address Wednesday.

The plan would eliminate the need for people to carry multiple documents.

Officials said the program, called New York State Adventure License, would be optional and would only be for those who purchase “lifetime” sporting licenses, not those with day or annual permits.

The governor is expected to promote new tourism efforts during his address, including a plan to improve the Black Creek Fishing area in Chili and Braddock Bay in Greece.
