The world famous Harlem Globetrotters are the kings of trick shots and high flying slam dunks. But they  like to show their softer side off the court.

The Globetrotters don’t bring their world tour to Buffalo until next week but they’re already making the rounds in Western New York. Slick Willie Shaw stopped by the pediatric unit of Roswell Park on Wednesday to show off some of his favorite moves and make new friends along the way.

“This is the part of my job that I love the most. Get a chance to put some smiles on people’s faces. It really touches my heart. It makes everyone feel good. It makes me feel even better,” he said.

The Globetrotters will hit the court at First Niagara Center on January 31. Tickets are still available. And if you go to, you can choose which new game-changing rules you want to see here in Buffalo. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
