Weber: “No one wants to be this bad”

While the Sabres are playing much better lately, players still acknowledge the fact that they are in last place. A recent string of close losses has seemed to magnify that point.

“No one wants to be this bad,” said defenseman Mike Weber after practice Wednesday. “Everyone collectively is trying to find a way.”

After struggling offensively for much of the season, the Sabres have been scoring at a season-high pace lately. The down side to that fact, is they suddenly seem to be giving up more goals as well.

“We’re scoring, but defensively we’re missing coverage. Guys aren’t in the right places, guys aren’t supporting each other to get out of the zone,” said Weber.
