BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – It’s definitely an extra layer or two kind of day, especially for kids waiting at bus stops.
Buffalo is firmly in winter’s grip and it’s a common sight to see people bundled up and wearing extra layers. With weather like this perhaps it’s best to just avoid the outdoors altogether.
Regency Masonry Inc. Kevin Haskell said, “I would stay home, it’s pretty cold out. You know I was out in it all day today, and not a lot of fun.”
Even home may not be warm, as people struggle to keep up with increasing heating costs and a propane shortage.
“It’s still early in the winter, we still have a lot of winter left and if the supply doesn’t pick up I am not sure what will happen,” said Ryan Holland, owner of M&M Holland Propane.
Propane customer Robert Cornell said, “I buy about 700 gallons a year and I probably will go over by 100 so I’m really very fortunate, so as long as they deliver it the way they’re supposed to I have no problem and I’m glad I did it.”
But despite all the problems, some say you simply shouldn’t expect anything else this time of year.
One western New York said, “This is Buffalo. This is beautiful.”
