The investigation into the conduct of three teachers at the Cheektowaga Central School District has been completed.
The teachers have been on paid administrative leave for having inappropriate conversations with a student, Dontre Jones, who was locked up on murder charges. Jones has since been convicted.
In one recording, a teacher told Jones to use a student as a go between for mailing letters to one another. One of the teachers told Jones she would continue to send him things without her name on it, disobeying what police told her. Police say the worst offense by the teachers was outing a witness to Jones. A direct quote from a teacher to Dontre Jones was, “I heard (student) snitched on you.” Jones sounded surprised when the teacher told him who snitched.
The lawyer for the district tells News 4 there was an executive session on January 6 where the board took some action, but no specifics are being released because it’s a confidential personnel matter.
