Lawmakers want to ban conversion therapy


Some local state lawmakers are pushing for a new law that would ban children from receiving a controversial therapy.

“Conversion therapy” aims to change the sexual orientation of an individual from gay to straight. But opponents say the therapy is harmful to children and doesn’t work.

Several states already have restrictions against conversion therapy.
