Man accused of assaulting 5-month-old baby

A Lockport man is behind bars Saturday morning for assaulting and seriously injuring an infant. Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies say Christopher Fuller has been charged with first-degree assault and reckless assault of a child. The 23-year-old was arrested late Friday night.

Deputies began investigating an incident at an apartment building on Dysinger Road two days ago. Deputies say Fuller shook his five-month-old son so violently he is now in critical condition.

Niagara County Undersheriff Michael Filicetti said, “He’s facing a B felony and a D felony so he could be facing significant time behind bars if he’s convicted of that. I will say that any time we get an injured child we do investigate to make sure either it was an accident or there was some ill intent on the person that’s in care of that child.”

After he was arraigned in Lockport Town Court, Fuller was taken to the Niagara County Jail on $25,000 bail.
