Man admits robbing six bank across NYS

A Rochester man has admitted robbing six banks across New York State, including one in Kenmore.

Robert Stevenson admitted robbing the First Niagara Bank on Delaware Avenue in June 2012, as well as a Citizens Bank in Irondequoit in April 2012, an HSBC Bank in Syracuse in May 2012, an Adirondack Bank in Utica in August 2012, a Bank of America in New Hartford in October 2012, and a Northwest Savings Bank in Falconer in November 2012.

Authorities say during the robberies, the 59-year-old man would tap his waistband to suggest he had a weapon and hand the teller a note demanding cash in the form of $100 and $50 dollars bills.

Stevenson will be sentenced in May. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
