Sekera, Semin sink Sabres 5-3

Alexander Semin scored twice, and former Sabre Andrej Sekera had a three-point night, leading Carolina past the Sabres 5-3.

Buffalo took the lead three separate times in the game, only to see the Hurricanes rally every time. Cody Hodgson, Brian Flynn, and Tyler Ennis all found the net in the loss. Sekera netted the game-winner in the third period.

The loss is Buffalo’s fifth in a row – the first four had been by a 4-3 score. A late Jiri Tlusty empty-netter prevented that from happening a fifth time.
