Man who broke into Co. Exec’s car sentenced

A Buffalo man who broke into Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s vehicle and then his home will spend the next eight years in prison.

Avello Pena was sentenced Tuesday for burglary and petit larceny. The 22-year-old stole money and a baseball bat from Poloncarz’s car before breaking into his home. Police spotted him a short after the theft and Pena was arrested.
