The Village of Gowanda will receive $700,000 from New York State for the cost of cleaning up after a flood nearly five years ago.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the reimbursement using FEMA-approved money. The village paid out money for labor, equipment and other expenses related to damaged infrastructure and cleaning up debris from the August 2009 flood.
