A Niagara County man now admits he tried to kill his brother-in-law over a business dispute.
Last year, 44-year-old Timothy Depetris accompanied a pizza deliveryman to the home of 56-year-old Sandro Viola. Viola hadn’t ordered a pizza, and when he opened the door to see what was going on, he was shot in the upper chest.
Viola survived the shooting and Depetris and the pizza deliveryman were arrested. Then later, while locked up, police say Depetris tried to hire a hitman to kill Viola and the deliveryman.
On Thursday, Depetris pleaded guilty to attempted murder. Investigators say he was angry over a business dispute.
