Alleged drunk driver strikes mailboxes, pole

An accused drunk driver was found hiding in the woods overnight, after allegedly striking multiple mailboxes and a utility pole with his vehicle. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office say 41-year-old David A. Rubeck, of Angola, left the scene after his vehicle crashed on  Gowanda State Road, in North Collins.

The sheriff’s office says they found Rubeck after a brief search. He was allegedly driving drunk while his license was revoked for a previous alcohol related offense. A breath test revealed an alleged .10 percent BAC.

Rubeck is facing several charges, among them are felony DWI and  felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
