AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB)- Will he or won’t he run for governor? That will be the question on everyone’s mind when Donald Trump comes to town Friday night.

This will be Trump’s first political speech outside of Manhattan. He’s expected to speak around 6 p.m. at the Erie County Republican Committee’s largest event in history. More than 500 tickets have been sold.

Republican Chair Nick Langworthy says anything could happen. The Erie County Republican’s Lincoln Leadership Awards will be held at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens.

Langworthy says when he met with Trump in New York City back on January 10th, the billionaire said he would make a decision about running for governor in a next few weeks. Its been about three weeks and  the last time News 4 spoke to Langworthy, we had to ask him if the Donald could announce a gubernatorial run in Buffalo.

Langworthy said, “I suppose it’s possible, generally candidate announcements are kind of reserved for a separate announcement, stand alone press conference, but I think it would be a possibility.”
