Higgins supports compensating nuclear workers

More support is building behind the mission to help Bethlehem Steel retirees, who have spent years fighting for compensation.

Congressman Brian Higgins has signed on to key pieces of legislation aimed at compensating former workers and their families. The Nuclear Workers Compensation Act would require the Department of Labor to honor all claims, even if the person who filed it has passed away, and the money would be given to surviving family members.

Some workers claim they were unknowingly exposed to toxins while working at the former steel site.
