Jury finds man guilty of terrifying invasion

A Buffalo man has been convicted of a terrifying home invasion that happened in July. A jury found 20-year-old Dante Richardson guilty of an armed robbery. His accomplice Jerry Wielbon pleaded guilty in October.

Richardson and Wielbon broke into a 48-year-old woman’s home in Buffalo. The men wore masks and plastic gloves, carried a loaded .32 caliber pistol, threatened the victim’s life and demanded that she give them money.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office reports the men fled from the home when police arrived, only managing to steal $10 in cash and a bag of condoms.

Wielbon is currently serving a 3.5-year sentence. Richardson could face a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison when he is sentenced in April.
