A 27-year-old woman has been ordered to pay restitution for illegally obtaining nearly $6,000 in Food Stamps.

Between August 2011 and September 2012 in Olean, Fallon Smith of Delevan committed fourth degree welfare fraud and fourth degree grand larceny to obtain Food Stamps. Authorities say Smith was receiving child support from the father of her children while he was incarcerated and she failed to report that on applications for Food Stamps. She also took and spent a tax return debit card she had no right to use.

Smith was sentenced to five years probation on Tuesday and ordered to pay restitution.
