A sex offender pleaded guilty to disturbing charges Wednesday, involving two children. Anthony Chapman, 48, admits to repeatedly and frequently sexually abusing two juveniles, over a span of seven years.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says the Schmarbeck Avenue man pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child. The victims were each nine years old when the abuse began.
Chapman has a history of sex crimes. Chapman was convicted of sexual abuse in 1997, and was placed on probation for five years. While on probation, in 1999, he was convicted of attempted failure to register as a sex offender. In 2008 he was convicted of three counts of failing to register as a sex offender, and was again sentenced to probation.
Chapman could face anywhere from 12 years to 30 years in state prison when he is sentenced in February.
