The new interim CEO at Kaleida Health is vowing to turn things around with a culture change.
Jody Lomeo, who is also the current CEO of ECMC, has been at the helm of Kaleida Health for one week. He says the need for layoffs in the future is still being assessed, but in the meantime he will concentrate on doing to Kaleida Health what he did to ECMC: empower employees to improve patient care.
“We need the patient experience to be first and foremost,” he said. “It’s time to look forward, it’s time for better days. My message has been clear to [employees]: Rome is not burning. As a matter of fact, this is an opportunity for the community. This is the opportunity for us to come together and for them to lead.”
Lomeo is taking over for former president and CEO Jim Kaskie, who resigned last week.
