Trooper: Methadone tablet spotted during stop

New York State Police say a trooper spotted a Methadone tablet in plain view, during a traffic stop in Collins on Thursday. Police say they stopped the vehicle 36-year-old Shawn Brennan was driving for speeding in Collins.

Police say they were speaking to Collins, of Lackawanna, when they saw the tablet on the passenger seat, where 33-year-old Heather Battaglia, of Gowanda, was sitting.

Troopers searched Brennan and Battaglia and the car, and say Brennan had a ziplock bag with 43 Methadone pills in it.

Brennan was charged with possession and intending to sell a controlled substance. Battaglia is charged with possession.
