Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Wales man for DWI by Sheriff’s Road Patrols late Friday night.

While on patrol in Elma, Deputy John Szczepanski responded to a call of a stopped vehicle on the Rt. 400 Expressway with a passed out driver in it.

After locating the vehicle, the Deputy arrested the driver, 32 year old Javon S. Hoskins  and charged him with DWI, Illegal Parking on the Highway, and Operating with an Open Alcoholic Beverage.

Deputies say his blood alcohol content was .17%, over twice the legal limit.  He was processed at the Elma Station and released on appearance tickets.

This was the 19th DWI Arrest by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in 2014. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
