Man shot in leg near UB’s South Campus

AMHERST, NY (WIVB) Amherst Police are looking for a male shooter involved in an incident Saturday night.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Saturday night Amherst police responded to a report of a large group fighting and shots being fired in the parking lot of the University Plaza on Main Street.

The male shooter was described as a black male, with a dark complexion. He was seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt.

The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to ECMC with a non life-threatening injury.

Police say the incident is currently under investigation.
