CPS workers to be stationed inside hospitals

Child Protective Services is launching a new program to track down suspected abusers.

CPS employees will now be stationed at Women and Children’s and Sisters Hospitals. The CPS workers will be able to directly examine suspected cases of abuse when patients come in for treatment.

Previously, Erie County CPS has been accused of not doing enough in certain cases to prevent or end suspected abuse. Local lawmakers recently rolled out plans to reform the agency.
