Man accused of stealing $4K in unemployment benefits

State Police say a Buffalo man collected nearly $4,000 in unemployment benefits while working at a rehab center in the city.

Edward Dupree was arrested last Wednesday and charged with nine counts of first degree falsifying business records as well as first degree offering a false instrument for filing and third degree grand larceny. Authorities say during a four-month period in the fall of 2010, the 46-year-old collected unemployment benefits he was not entitled to.

Dupree is due back in court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
