Man allegedly carried drugs into correctional facility

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y.(WIVB)- A Buffalo man is accused of taking drugs into the Gouverneur Correctional Facility. New York State Police say 25-year-old Tyrone D. Jenkins is facing a number of charges.

Jenkins allegedly went to the facility to visit someone Saturday morning. He was allegedly carrying a half pill of MDMA ecstasy and a half pill of hydrocodone with acetaminophen.

Jenkins is charged with three counts of second-degree introducing prison contraband, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Jenkins was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond.
