Schumer wants FDA to ban additive

WASHINGTON, D.C.(WIVB)- Subway recently removed a controversial chemical from its bread. Turns out, it’s in more fast foods, and now New York Senator Chuck Schumer’s fighting to have it removed.

Schumer says the FDA should ban the additive, because chains like KFC and McDonald’s still use it.

The chemical got people talking, when we all learned that it’s mainly used in products like yoga mats and shoes. It’s banned in the European Union and Australia.
