Tom Muscarella is Chairman of the 2009 Taste of Buffalo. We caught up with him tending to any one of a thousand details he will tackle during this long weekend. Believe it or not, his day job is with the Erie County Health Department as Senior Public Health Sanitarian. Seems like the right man for this mission!

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB)- Two cars were involved in a serious crash in the Town of Lewiston, Wednesday. Two people were transported to Erie County Medical Center following the crash on State Route 31 at Garlow Road.

New York State Police say 69-year-old Robert Doll, of Lancaster, was traveling east on State Route 31 when he turned north onto Garlow Road, into the path of another vehicle. In that vehicle, 82-year-old Donald Triechler, of Sanborn, was driving.

After the crash Triechler’s passenger, 78-year-old Nancy Triechler, was found unresponsive and not breathing. A trooper removed her from the vehicle and was able to open and maintain an airway. Mercy Flight transported her to ECMC. Mr. Triechler was taken by ambulance. Both are listed in stable condition.

Doll was not injured in the crash. He faces a traffic citation for failing to yield.
