Nik Wallenda will spend summer at Darien Lake

At a press conference at the Tim Horton’s in Williamsville Wednesday morning, Darien Lake announced that tight rope walker Nik Wallenda will be their new in-park entertainment act this summer.

The park says the act is called “Nik Wallenda: Beyond the Falls” and features the Wallenda family. Nik Wallenda was on hand for the press conference and said he’s thrilled to be back in the area.

Tim Horton’s is sponsoring the act, which will be 60 minutes long and held twice daily in the 1,800 seat Galaxy Theatre at the park from June 23 through September 1. There will be no performances on Mondays.

Officials also say there will be additional entertainment, including an interactive tight rope training academy with hands-on instructions, a short film chronicling the history of the Wallendas, pop-up street performances in the park, and a premiere high wire stunt on Saturday, May 26. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
