Woman killed in Niagara Falls Blvd. accident named


AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB)- A woman lost her life Wednesday night in Amherst when a vehicle hit her as she crossed Niagara Falls Boulevard. Police say she was leaving a gas station when the car hit her and she was wearing all black.

Police say 50-year-old Sharon Alfiere, who sometimes used the name “Sharon Caruana,” was in the northbound lane of Niagara Falls Boulevard at East Robinson Road around 9 p.m. when she was struck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle’s driver was interviewed by police on the scene Wednesday night. At this time, no charges have been filed.

Amherst Police continue to investigate the accident. Detectives are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash. If you have any information, call police at 689-1311.
