BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Sabres forward Linus Omark cleared waivers, but did not report to the team’s minor league affiliate in Rochester.
News 4 Sports Director Steve Vesey spoke with Omark’s agent, Kevin Epp, tonight. He says the two sides are “trying to work things out.”
Epps tells News 4 Sports, the main focus is simply trying to understand where Omark fits into the Sabres’ future plans. His no-show in Rochester does not necessarily mean he wants to play back home in Sweden, Epps says.
The Sabres would have to assign him to a Swedish team, if that was the case.
Buffalo waived Omark, just before the Olympic break. The Sabres acquired him from Edmonton in December for a conditional 6th-round draft pick.
