Driver allegedly throws crack pipe filter out window

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Tonawanda man was spotted throwing something out his car window, and now is facing drug charges. Troopers say 34-year-old Steven Kowalcyk was in a vehicle on Niagara Street, at Forest, and threw a crack pipe filter out his window. Police say he admits to tossing the item.

Troopers say they stopped Kowalcyk, and as they interviewed him saw a crack cocaine rock on the passenger-side floor. Troopers say they found two more rocks of cocaine as they searched the vehicle.

Kowalcyk is charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
