Kelly family holds Hunter’s Day of Hope

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.(WIVB)- Valentine’s Day has a special meaning for Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly and his family. Friday is “Hunter’s Day of Hope and Prayer for Children,” in New York State.

It’s named in honor of Jim Kelly’s son Hunter, who passed away from krabbe disease in 2005. Friday would have been Hunter’s 17th birthday, a birthday he shared with his father.

The Kelly family and their Hunter’s Hope Foundation will mark the occasion Saturday, by hosting a free day of activities for families at the Buffalo Bills Healthy Zone Fieldhouse.

Kelly said, “That’s something I look forward to every year because it’s families bringing their kids together. And when you think about Valentine’s Say it’s always husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend. We just want people to appreciate their kids.”
