A Town of Clarence woman for Felony Driving While Intoxicated.

An Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a three car injury accident on Transit Rd.  Roll Rd. in the Town of Clarence.

The accident occurred when one vehicle struck a second vehicle from behind and forced that vehicle to collide with the rear end of a third vehicle.

During the investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, 57 year-old Julia Bastin, was intoxicated. She was arrested for DWI and was taken to the Erie County Sheriff’s Clarence substation where a breath test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .21%, over twice the legal limit.

Bastin’s DWI charge was upgraded to a felony because she had a previous conviction for DWI in 2006.

Bastin is being held at the Erie Co. Holding Center on $750 bail. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
