Museum teaches kids about healthy living

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Boys and girls got a lesson in good health at the Buffalo Museum of Science on Monday.

The museum knew there would be more visitors on Presidents’ Day and they were prepared with some help from a few special guests.

Experts from Independent Health were on hand to provide information about healthy living. The health care provider already has exhibits at the museum on Best Street.

Other guests included an assistant Buffalo Bills coach with fitness and nutrition tips, and fitness instructors from the YMCA. Sabretooth, Buster Bison, and Buffalo Bills alumnus Steve Tasker were also there.

Visitors could also check out exhibits for National Engineer Week.

Marketing and Public Relations Director Amy Biber said, “We have a number of activities and partners throughout the museum for kids to learn more about engineering, get introduced to engineering, also explore our new science studio in motion which is all about physical sciences.”

Other activities Monday included cooking demonstrations, a soccer goal station and quizzes.
